Tuesday’s List: Favorite Crock Pot Recipes

tuesdayslist

Okay, so I only have a couple really good crock pot recipes, both of which are (slightly adapted but mostly) from my momma (thanks Mom!). Here goes!

Beef Stew
Ingredients:
2 lbs stew meat
1 pkg onion soup mix (I prefer Lipton’s brand)
A few cups of water
Chopped veggies (I use carrots, potatoes, & white onion)
Corn starch & a little water

Put meat in crock pot, pour water in and sprinkle soup mix in there. Cook that for a few hours on low (I don’t know – 4? 5?), then add the veggies and cook until the veggies are soft and the meat is thoroughly done. Turn the crock up to high & scoop out or scoot over the meat & veggies. When the temperature has reached it’s highest, mix a few teaspoons of corn starch with a little bit of water, then whisk it into the liquid a little at a time to thicken it. Go slowly so you don’t thicken it too much!

Beef Stroganoff
Ingredients:
2 lbs stew meat
4 beef bullion cubes
2 c. water
1 can cream of mushroom soup
8 oz sour cream
Rice or Egg noodles

Brown stew meat in frying pan, then put in crock pot with water, soup, and bullion. Cook on low for about 6 hours (check meat). About 30 minutes before you serving, stir in sour cream. Serve over cooked egg noodles or white rice!

(Everyone should hop on over to Love from Texas, the blog where Tuesday’s List originated!)
