It must get worse…

…before it can get better.

Isn’t that how that saying goes?

Or maybe “it must get gross…”

“before it can be beautiful.”

Worse/Better?  Gross/Beautiful?  Despicable/Awesome?

Speaking of awesome, here’s someone awesome.

And another.  Hey Jon, you’re neat.

My family came to help.  We took them to the river!

We also worked them to the bone!
(And yes, that’s my husband with the really cool rolled up pants & boots)

By the end of the day, I had all the doors off the frames, and the hinges/doorknobs off the doors.

Here’s my office.  Nothing’s been done in here yet, I just took another picture for some reason.

James’ amazing yellow room.  I love it!

We also got about 30% of all the wooden trim painted white that day (thanks Mom!).

Door to the basement (except with no door, so I guess that makes it a doorWAY to the basement).

The basement.  Hallelujah, the carpet is no more!!

Daryl’s office.  I think this is the first picture I’ve put up of it, though I’m not really sure why!

The guest room, sans-carpet!

Oh.  Holy moley.  My brain hurts looking at this bathroom.  What a wreck!

He’s so good.  I could never do what he does!

The wetbar (a.k.a. toolbench).

There’s no point in even trying to keep things clean down there.

But we’ll have hot water soon!!

And these doors will be white soon!!

And we have this stone (a gift from my dear Mom) to remind us to make each day count.
And in the midst of a stressful remodel, it’s a good visual reminder to have!

And I though it was neat that the color I picked for the bathroom and my office was the same color as these “tickle flowers” that James is always picking for me out of the yard.

Brass doorknobs, anyone?

We’re making progress!
