7 Weeks

Note: I wrote this post back when I really WAS 7 weeks along, I’m now 15 weeks and about to write a new post! My intent was to do this every week between then and now, but the first trimester took it’s horrible grip on my life at around 7.5 weeks and I was dead to the world for two months. Sorry for the gap!

How Far Along: 7 weeks
Size of Baby: a half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Since my 1st positive prego test, I’ve lost about 3 lbs. Surprising really, because I’ve been eating like crazy!
Maternity Clothes: Not needed at all. I feel a little too bloated to wear my normal jeans (so the sweatpants have definitely been making an appearance), but I don’t have a belly yet.
Gender: We won’t know for awhile! I can’t wait, though. :)
Movement: None really. My stomach twitches every once in awhile (and those of you who have felt a kick know that’s kinda what it feels like) but I’m sure it’s just things adjusting in there.
Sleep: I’m sleeping okay for now. I get up once during the night to pee (I found that if I don’t, a full bladder in the morning makes my nausea WAY worse).
What I miss: NOT being nauseous. Oh, and caffeine. I could really use a boost!
Cravings: Soft tacos from Taco Bueno! Oh Springfield Bueno’s, why did you have to shut down!?
Symptoms: Nausea, sore boobs and fatigue. I’m sooo tired.
Best Moment this week: When I e-mailed Daryl at work with a link to the 7 weeks page on BabyCenter.com, and he wrote back “Sweet :) grow baby grow!” or when he insisted on lifting the case of bottled water for me at Walmart. He’s a good man.
Actually, the best moment might’ve been this morning when I realized that peppermint candies actually make my nausea go away. That ROCKS!
My first doctor’s appointment is on the 12th, but technically it’s nothing to get excited about…it’s just to meet with the office admin about insurance/payment plans. Jeez! Â Not looking forward to talking money, haha. Then, my first “official” see-the-doctor-hear-the-heartbeat appointment will be scheduled for 2-3 weeks after that. So, we won’t have our first checkup until I’m 10-11 weeks along! Â I can’t wait to hear the heartbeat. Only problem so far is that I have to find a babysitter for James while I’m at the doctor or Daryl will never get to be at an appointment. They have a strict no-kids policy, which doesn’t bother me that much except for the obvious inconvenience.
